My Life & Starcraft 2 in Review

Well, can't say that I haven't been looking forward to this day for quite some time. Actually, I take that back, today is actually pretty bittersweet and I know for a fact some of you can identify with this.

I still remember the day I picked up my Collector's Edition of Starcraft (I got the zerg box!) back in 1997. My parents were the typical Asian Nazis and I literally had to pull straight A's the entire year for them to let me buy a Video Game, so you could only imagine the anticipation as I took it out of the box and installed it on my 100 mhz Pentium computer.The cinematics were gorgeous, storyline was solid, and of course..... the game play was just unsurpassed.

Usually when people get addictions, they last for a month.... maybe a year, and then the person realizes, it's time to get their sh*t together. Me on the other hand.... I was addicted to Starcraft all the way till my high school graduation, I played incessantly for almost six years straight.

I woke up one day and looked at myself in the mirror. I was overweight, pale, had acne and well....... my social situation was pretty on par with what you would guess. NOT the best way to start my four years at college.

This is what lead to my eventual appearance on VH1's "The Pick Up Artist".

I suppose one could make an argument and say that my extreme shortcomings lead to a cool career path as a Dating Coach, but honestly, I felt like a destitute man trying to keep up with credit card payments, I just didn't have my priorities straight and trust me, it was an uphill battle all the way through.

ANYWAYS, not here to bash you if you bought Starcraft 2 and for those casual gamers, s'all good, BUT if you're one of those hardcore gamers (you know who you are) that's probably going lock himself in the basement for the next 6 months, I sincerely hope you reconsider. Life's short, you're only on this planet for 28,000 days. And you're in your prime from when you're age 18 - 30, that's roughly 4,000 days.

Don't be like me and waste 3000 of those days on battle.net, go out and do something meaningful.

Hope this didn't fall on deaf ears.

Asian Man Gets First Girlfriend & Loses His Virginity Party!

The ABCs is not an assembly line where you're placed into a cookie cutter, processed into the same shape as the guy next to you, and then spit out of the factory to make room for the next guy. We understand that taking your game to the next level takes time, dedication, and more importantly-- support. Each man must find his own path and his own destiny, but the process of discovering that destiny-- the one that is unique only to you-- requires support from others.

Maybe your parents encouraged you to pursue lofty career goals rather than pursuing your basic needs in romance. Maybe your friends like you as being the loser of the group-- the guy who never gets laid. Maybe you bought into those ideas and conditioned yourself to first believe them, and second to embody them through your actions.

  2. Started dating her
  3. Made her his girlfriend
  4. And had his first bout of awesome, sweaty, awkward sex!

    Dear Asian Playboy, I need some guidance with this black girl I met!

    So I read your blog about black girls and asian men the other day, and it really inspired me to take action with this black girl I know from school. She's 21 (I'm 19), who goes to my uni and lives in downtown.

    We met during orientation last month when she actually talked to me first, we talked a little bit but we stopped talking, probably maybe because she was annoyed or thought that I didn't want to talk to her because I didn't really try.

    Way to go Mr. Chocolate! First of all, thanks for being a part of the community and for connecting with me on facebook!

    It sounds like you have a pretty typical situation: A girl is interested in you and you are
    1. Telling yourself she's not interested in you ("But we stopped talking, probably maybe because she was annoyed or thought that I didn't want to talk to her because I didn't really try.") and 
    2. You're not taking the lead, which is the job of the man in this type of relationship
    In reality, the conversation between you two probably ended because you weren't adding anything to further it. A conversation goes both ways and it's important to continue adding value so that both parties enjoy it, which is probably what happened in your most recent conversation.
    • TIP: Have interesting, fun (TRUE) stories about your life, but also equally importantly, your VALUES! Show her you're a man who's ambitious, outgoing, and doesn't take B.S. from people!
    Good for you for getting the number, as that's the first step to being in control of when you see her. Now, what you need to do is set up an activity that you and she can both take part in, in order to get to know her better and escalate your relationship (we call this a "date" ;) ).

    At the ABCs of Attraction, we recommend nonstandard dates (read: FUN and CREATIVE) that will be fun for both of you, as well as something she's never done before. Recently, I've been taking girls to the museum and we've had a great time from getting our culture on, the painting classes on premises, as well as wine tasting. All in one fun!

    Also, my instructor, Gareth Jones, will take girls to the planetarium and then out for coffee. The point of a date is to get to know more about each other and to increase game time, while doing something engaging and (preferably) exciting.
    • TIP: Find an event or activity near you (Lasertag, Museum, Planetarium, Beach, Art Show) and make a trip of it, maybe bring a picnic lunch or dinner for before or after and tell her how much fun it's going to be.
    In our upcoming iGame: From Text to Sex DVD series, we lay out EXACTLY how to get her out on that date and how to escalate from there, but I think that right now, taking her on a date will be just the push you need.
